iZZi SF 200 – Duct-type preheater (0.5kW) / Filter box
The iZZi duct type box is a preheater and dual filter combination designed for installation on iZZi recuperators. The electric 500W preheater supports the anti-freeze operation of the iZZi recuperator, while the redundant filters (F5 + F7/F9) ensure the highest air quality throughout the year without smog and pollen.
iZZi SF 200 is a hybrid box that combines two components:
- first: a modern, smoothly controlled PTC heater that protects the recuperator of the unit against freezing at very low outside air temperatures
- second: a set of filters that will purify the air entering the house from harmful impurities to the highest degree
Comfort down to -15℃
The ReQnet iZZi series recuperator uses an enthalpy-type cross-flow recuperator, which allows the unit to operate efficiently without the risk of freezing even at low outdoor air temperatures of ~ -7°C. Therefore, iZZi recuperators do not have a built-in preheater by default. On the other hand, if the temperature is lower, the recuperator is protected by the periodic vacuum antifreeze system, which means that the speed of the supply fan is temporarily reduced. For this time, all additional operating modes are also blocked, such as the ventilation mode and the ability to change the performance of the fans.
Is an additional preheater required?
Thanks to the iZZi SF 200 preheater / filter box, which is installed on the outdoor air intake duct, the unit operated in a balanced manner without activating the vacuum system even at temperatures as low as -15°C. Thanks to this, we can use the full functionality of the device throughout the year and enjoy its high performance.
Advantages of installing a preheater:
- The basic function is frost protection: the preheater helps to maintain the correct temperature in the cross-flow recuperator, which prevents it from freezing even at very low outdoor temperatures
- Energy saving: preventing the recuperator from icing increases the efficiency of heat recovery, resulting in energy savings
- No negative pressure is created: when the preheater is activated, it replaces the antifreeze function of the vacuum, which causes a negative pressure to be created in the home. As a result, there is no air compensation by drawing cold outdoor air through the gaps in the building
- Improving air quality: the preheater prevents the intake filter from freezing and increases its efficiency, which allows for more efficient air purification
Energy-saving PTC heating elements with smooth power regulation
The iZZi SF 200 box uses a modern PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heating element with a maximum power of 500W, which has many advantages:
- Energy saving: The PTC heater is able to automatically adjust the required amount of electricity according to the demand, which prevents unnecessary energy consumption
- Safety: PTC elements are safe to use as automatic current regulation prevents overheating
- Simple control: the PTC heater allows easy and precise control of the temperature in the recuperator with the help of automation
- Efficiency: The PTC heater provides efficient heating of the air before the recuperator, which helps maintain thermal comfort in the building
- Reliability: PTC heaters are durable and reliable, they work for a very long time without needing to be replaced
Filters
Smog is polluted air formed by the mixing of smoke, fog and harmful substances in the exhaust gases of cars, industry and coal burning. Smog is a health hazard because it contains toxic substances such as nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide, which can cause asthma, respiratory, cardiovascular diseases. Smog is a particularly serious problem in some cities, but it can occur anywhere there is high air pollution.
The iZZi SF 200's two-stage filtering process captures more than 80% of the finer PM1 smog particles, which are especially harmful to our body because they can enter the bloodstream through the lungs, spreading through our body and harming various internal organs. The filtering process is based on the use of two cassette filters, including the fine anti-smog class F9 filter, which is responsible for the retention of fine PM1 particles. Unfortunately, most anti-smog filters on the market only provide protection against the larger PM10 and PM2.5 particles, which is too low a protection in practice.
F9 anti-smog filters are recommended to be used only in the winter season, when air pollution is high, while F7 anti-dust filters, in the spring when allergenic plants are blooming. The F9 and F7 filters should be changed at least once a season, and the M5 filter every 6-8 months. Dirty filters increase air resistance.
Only tested and correctly selected filters can guarantee the highest quality of supply air in your home. ReQnet filter boxes and recuperators use only the best quality cartridge filters with a very large filtering surface. They provide low airflow resistance and high dust capacity, which in turn increases their service life.
